Pakistan’s anti-narcotics efforts successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle 25 kilograms of drugs to New Zealand during an operation in Lahore.
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) identified a suspicious parcel destined for New Zealand, where they found narcotics concealed within women’s clothing. According to an ANF spokesperson, the drugs, specifically crystal methamphetamine known as “ice,” were cleverly hidden to evade detection, as reported by Express News.
This operation is part of a broader national campaign against drug smuggling. A case has been filed under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway to identify those involved. Authorities are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspects connected to the smuggling attempt.
In a related incident, the ANF acted on a tip-off and conducted a raid at a courier office, leading to the discovery of both weapons and drugs concealed in household electronics.
During this inspection, authorities uncovered 1.2 kilograms of cannabis hidden inside battery chargers, as well as five 9mm pistols, two .30-caliber pistols, and multiple magazines, all disguised within juicer machines to evade detection. The parcel originated from Karkhano Market in Peshawar, an area notorious for illegal activities, and was destined for Karachi under the pretense of delivering electronic items.
Following these seizures, the ANF has initiated further investigations to trace the individuals responsible for these smuggling operations, with additional arrests expected as their efforts continue.
